'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith continues clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he recalls the thrilling final moments of his team's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The encounter ended with Galbraith picking up a supporter's spectacles amid the on-field celebration.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith cracked the upright with a powerful effort from 25 yards, and his teammate promptly converted the rebound before charging toward the home end to mark the goal, with the crowd congregating around the players.

Stunning Reversal

This completed an extraordinary recovery given the Welsh side had trailed 2-0 during the final 45 minutes. During the delirium, there was some unintended consequences. He shared, "There was a supporter sort of calling out and we were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're humans, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The result secured a next round fixture at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith ran close at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. The athletic midfielder had arguably the best view when the underdogs took the lead in remarkable manner, with a teammate's first-time shot from about 45 yards going in via the bar and the City goalkeeper. Many argued that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've credited him for attempting the shot from that distance," commented Galbraith, who began the game centrally before switching to right wing-back after they changed tactics. That meant facing off against Jack Grealish, with whom he swapped shirts, and the winger was among the opposition who complimented the way Orient played positively.

City's Quality

"Athletically they are outstanding but even the basics and routine actions, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It feels like they always find their target and they understand how to manage and take the sting out of a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then abruptly they will just fizz a pass through a line without you even seeing. You have to be alert every second of the game. It demands a tough attitude and concentration just to keep pace."

Welsh Transition

Swansea sought to acquire Galbraith in January and beat off competition to secure him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He became a favorite as a popular figure across a couple of years at Orient and has rapidly achieved similar status in his new home. At his previous team he linked up again with the coach, who earlier gave Galbraith his first extended run in professional games on loan at a League One side from Old Trafford. Then came a loan at League Two Salford, before he departed his boyhood club.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a bit naive going into men's football. I think a lot of players would say under-23s football is entirely separate. Sometimes it appears possession is exchanged without much intensity. There's not many tackles or duels. Once you start playing men's games you have to adjust fast."

International Recognition

He has demonstrated that growth for club and country, excelling for his national side, who are fighting to qualify for the World Cup next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has started the last several matches, including two matches encounters against a football powerhouse. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, paid him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he handles the football and his knack for a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

This marks a remarkable path for the player from the Queens Park estate in his hometown, just outside Belfast, who used to see his parent, his father, also a central player, play for his father's team.

Old Trafford Memory

His sole appearance for United came in Central Asia in 2019, a European competition trip to the host city, where they competed on an plastic turf and the venue ceiling was sealed owing to conditions of -15C. "That proved to be a lengthy journey and it was cold out there," he recalls, chuckling. "The preceding week, myself and quite a few of the young lads practiced as a group, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to join the main group and get a couple of minutes at the end was unbelievable."

Leaving United

How hard was it to leave United, the club he transferred from aged his mid-teens? "The decision proved quite easy, because I got to the stage where I realized I couldn't establish myself at the senior squad. I'm hugely grateful for the time I spent there but it reached a stage where I thought I had to take a different path, drop down the leagues and play first-team games. Now I'm slowly progressing again."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has somewhere to be at the early evening: a road rules assessment, another progress toward getting on the road. Prior to relocating to Sketty, the mid-twenties player was a frequent passenger in Swansea's so-called player transport, a team vehicle driven by club employees, Pete and Howard, which shuttles players to and from training and matches.

"It's myself the Portuguese player, Ronald, Malick Yalcouyé – a former passenger used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's pleasant to spend time with the lads but I'm hoping to be the subsequent individual to stop using the bus and on the road. His teammate likes to pull a few pranks; he's always up to all sorts."

Supporter Connections

While playing for Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside supporters on public transport after starting his journey at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
